There are many reasons to go green. In fact, there are so many reasons that it takes more than a day to share them all. Downtown Plymouth is celebrating five years of going green this year with its Green Street Fair on May 4, 5 and 6, 2012.

The annual Green Street Fair is a three-day, outdoor event inspired by the green movement. This educational celebration teaches people about the little ways they can make a difference in the world through the use of organic, eco-friendly products and services.

Companies, artisans and entertainers passionate about the green movement will gather outdoors near the restaurants, coffee houses, retail shops and art galleries of downtown Plymouth to conduct workshops and demonstrations, all of which are appropriate for and relevant to attendees of all ages. Attendees will have the opportunity to purchase the products they see on display.

Event hours run as follows:

Friday: 12 p.m. – 7 p.m.
Saturday: 10 a.m. – 7 p.m.
Sunday: 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.

The Green Street Fair was founded to spread the word about the benefits of going green and to promote global interest and well-being among all walks of life. The founders believe that even the smallest steps will make a difference, and there’s a lot to be said for their efforts: The 2011 Green Street Fair attracted nearly 90,000 attendees, 200 exhibitors and 30 sponsors.
