O'City (Oklahoma City) St. Paddy's Parade begins just South of the Myriad Gardens and ends in Bricktown... the local bar and entertainment district.

The events page link is oddly disengaged, as is the FB page absent the line up for the parade. This much loved event is planned to go on now, rain or shine.

One planned expression of Irish pride will be traditional Irish Dancing.

US Irish dancing is usually expressed as Clogging as Celtic Irish dancing is different.Note the difference between the costumes, gestures and response. And yes, the people involved in teaching and learning the dances know the difference.

Different shoes are worn for each activity below , besides the cut of the garmets, stockings and hair and use of upper body, hands and position of arms.

See these two clips.

Catch the reference to "Step Shows" or "Stepping" in the clogging definition above? this writer has never seen these topics connected with this historic black college social expression or traditional African dance.

Local news referenced the dancers as "stepping."

Should be an enjoyable all ages free event. Maybe it really is true, everyone is Irish on St. Paddy's.

Break out celebrations are available across Oklahoma.

Noteworthy are Bricktown

O'Connells in Norman,

McNellies in Midtown and Tulsa and

Saints in the OKC Plaza District

Most activities outside the parade will be available at 12 until facilities close, typically at 2am.

Food, special beverages and lots of fraternizing are traditional. Here's a Vine invivo from #DowntownOKC.
