Menifee, Calif., salutes her troops in a way that is visible to anyone who makes their way to the city's downtown core.
The local community has chosen a very public way to show their pride in America and their pride for the local men and women who have chosen to serve our nation; going past yellow trunk magnets or random yellow ribbons on park trees.
Streetlights through the city's main section are adorned with a U.S. flag that also displays a picture of every military person, in full-dress uniform, who is currently serving from their city; all branches and all ranks.
Located in Riverside County, with a mountain range as the backdrop, Menifee is a new city by anyone’s standards; officially incorporating and becoming a city in 2008.
Although not considered a “military town” like Barstow, located some 5 hours away, Menifee’s local youth football team is named “The Patriots” and they sport a logo remarkably similar to the NFL’s New England team.
