The Downtown Disney area at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida, is getting a major reimagineering. The area is going to be transformed into Disney Springs with construction beginning next month and areas expected to open in phases. The enter transformation is expected to be completed in 2016.
The main areas of Disney Springs will be the Town Center, The Landing, the Marketplace, and the West Side. The Town Center will feature bubbling springs with the back story of it being what attracted the areas original settles. It will also feature dining and shopping. The Landing area will have retail as well as dining that provides views of the water.
The Marketplace will contain Disney classics along with an expanded World of Disney store and a pedestrian causeway that goes over the water. The West Side will be mainly for live entertainment and will have elevated areas to make shade as well as overlooking views.
