Racers and window shoppers run through West Bend on Sunday, October 20, in the Downtown Dash. The chip-timed autumn 5K run/walk benefits such perennially popular local events as the West Bend Farmers’ Market, Music on Main, Wheels on Main, and more.
For the Downtown Dash 5K the closed-road course takes participants through the historic downtown area of this Washington County community. All participants receive commemorative Sport-Tek shirts. Awards will be presented to top finishers, both overall and in various age categories. Prizes will also be presented for the top five Halloween costumes.
Race-day registration opens at 7 a.m. on October 20 for the Downtown Dash, with the race start set for 8 a.m. at Old Settlers’ Park, located at 215 North Main Street, in West Bend (See map.). The entry fee is $25.
The 2013 Downtown Dash 5K is hosted by the Downtown West Bend Association and sponsored by several local merchants.
