Art and animation unite in Burbank, the Animation Capital of the World. It's all happening at the annual Downtown Burbank Arts Festival this weekend, Saturday, April 19, 2014 and Sunday, April 20, 2014, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on San Fernando Boulevard between Magnolia and Olive. Admission is free!
This year an entire block between Olive and Angeleno is devoted to animation and visual EFX artists from feature films, video games, television series, studios and associated schools. Thanks to the Creative Talent Network, more than 40 artists will be demonstrating their skills, selling books and prints, and providing portfolio reviews.
The other three blocks are filled with 90 regional artists featuring paintings, sculptures, photographs, glass, jewelry, metal work, leather, ceramics and woodwork. Watch talented chalk artists draw animation-inspired masterpieces on asphalt and concrete, or shop for creative gifts. Music from The Sound 100.3 will get you in the mood.
Get animated and go!
