‘Downton Abbey’ actress Lesley Nicol cast to guest star in ‘Once Upon a Time’

Downton Abbey” will be lending one of their talented actresses for a guest spot on ABC’s “Once Upon a Time.” TV Line revealed on Jan. 2 that British actress Lesley Nicol is the latest in a slew of surprise guests that will be heading to fairy land to play an interesting character in the favorite fantasy show.

Nicol plays the feisty head cook Mrs. Patmore on the PBS series “Downton Abbey” that has become an American sensation. She will be making an appearance later this season on “Once Upon a Time” which has also become a fan favorite drama. What role will the red head be playing? That remains a mystery and will keep fans guessing for a while. The only clue is that she will have a special connection to the Snow White family.

One member of that classic family, Prince Charming, aka Josh Dallas, is certainly excited to have Nicol on the set. He tweeted, "As a Huge #DowntonAbbey Fan I'm very excited [Lesley Nicol] is coming to #OnceUponaTime!" Nicol herself has fans guessing who she might play in the fantasy drama. When she teased them with a hint saying, “Think servant maybe,” the character of Mrs. Potts from “Beauty and the Beast” came to mind. However, the British actress simply said no. That can now be crossed off the list.

What role do you think she will play on “Once Upon a Time?”
