‘Downton Abbey’ season 4 spoiler: First African American character introduced (Video)

Season four of “Downton Abbey” will be highly anticipated with the loss of a beloved character and the introduction of new ones. One new character will be sure to cause some ruckus. The Sun has revealed on Feb. 25 that the hit PBS series will be introducing an African American character as part of how racial relations was dealt with back in the 1920’s.

The chosen actor will play the role of a musician at an exclusive 1920’s club by the name of Jack Ross, who is said to be able to sing brilliantly. The casting notes have already been sent out for someone described as a male, 25-30 years old.

The notes say, “He’s black and very handsome. A real man (not a boy) with charm and charisma.” It also went on to say that this actor should have a certain wow factor. It sounds like the search is on for this coveted role.

This new African American character is slated to play a key part in season four of “Downton Abbey.” Jack Ross sounds like someone that is highly likeable. However, because of the color of his skin, it is sure to cause some controversy around town and maybe with the Crawley family as well. We will have to wait and see what happens.

The actors are said to start filming “Downton Abbey” on March 23.
