Findlay has nabbed the female lead role opposite Harry Potter’s star Daniel Radcliffe and James McAvoy in the classic novel written by Mary Shelley.
The film, directed by Paul McGuigan, retells the classical horror story from Igor’s (Radcliffe), the hunchback assistant to Victor Frankenstein (McAvoy), perspective.
Findlay will play a trapeze artist who is saved by Igor after an accident thus leading the two to become very close afterwards.
Frankenstein is produced by John Davis, and scripted by Chronicle’s Max Landis.
Not much is known beyond the plots point, though production is slated to start later this fall in London or Scotland.
Findley played Lady Sybil, the youngest daughter of the aristocratic Crawley family, in the British period drama Downton Abbey, who later died during childbirth. She can next be seen in the drama Winter’s Tale, alongside Colin Farrell and Will Smith.
