'Downton Abbey' is so popular it has inspired a new fashion wave among Portland fashionistas.
Yes, in fact there are many whom love dressing up in the 20s style so much it is the only fashion trend they will wear.
Anxiously waiting the premiere of ‘Downton Abbey’ season four on January 5, 2014 I decided to celebrate and shine a spotlight on this popular PDX trend.
Together with two Portland creative dynamos I set out to have a little fashion fun.
Model, mom and associate editor for a new PDX magazine called, “Living Dead Magazine,” Lauren Jewels spent the day with me and fashion photographer Travis Geny playing in the Pearl at two of my favorite shopping destinations Leanna NYC and Bonnet Boutique.

Let’s break down a few key elements to capture this glamorous style:
Romance means wearing a pretty blouse with buttons, lace, sheer fabrics and ruffles.
Regal means wearing a hat. Hats are one of the most important fashion accessories that can easily change any outfit into a very dignified fashion statement. Why? Because in previous times everyone wore hats for almost every occasion.
Ready-to-wear lace up boots and Mary Jane shoes hit the mark and keep pace with this ‘Downton Abbey’ style.
Regency or Edwardian style included tweed fabric and fitted garments. Sounds like a paradox because women during the 20s rebelled against corsets and wore loose, and free form clothes, but they were still in proportion to the body shape and fitted accordingly.
