'Downton Abbey' characters: A black actor to be added to season four

"Downton Abbey" characters get a new cast member for the fourth season, and that member will be black, reports Gawker on Feb. 26, 2013. Casting notices were sent out earlier this month to find an actor to play Jack Ross, a handsome jazz musician, between 25 and 30, at "an exclusive club in the 20s."

"Downton Abbey" is a British TV series set in the early 20th century and follows the lives of aristocracy and their servants in the fictional Downton Abbey. As reported at Los Angeles Times, an average of 8.2 million viewers tuned into the third season series finale. It is a hit in the United States. As CNN described, "Americans love a period drama, and they dote on the British aristocracy."

Although you don't have to be born British to be a character on "Downton Abbey," who are some British black actors who would be great for the part?

Ashley Walters - 30-year-old black actor born in London.

Aml Ameen - 27-year-old black actor born in London.

Michael Obiora - 26-year-old black actor born in London.

Daniel Kaluuya - 23-year-old black actor born in London.
