Many of us will miss Dan Stevens, who has played Matthew Crawley in the PBS, Masterpiece television series Downton Abbey. Evidently Dan is moving to the film screen in a movie with Liam Neeson. However, Downton Abbey, which won the SAG award for best ensemble in a dramatic series, has many fine actors left in the series.
Downton Abbey has been an entertaining, historical, heartfelt series with the finest of British actors (and some notable American ones). It has been refreshing to see such a good television series without the following R-rated elements: language, bedrooms scenes, nudity, violence...

Downton Abbey has also won a Golden Globe Award for Best Miniseries or Television Film and a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Miniseries. It has been one of the most watched television shows in the world.
The series, set in the estate of Downton Abbey, covers the the aristocratic Crawley family and their servants. It takes places in post-Edwardian England and shows how that period affects the characters' lives. Some of the historic events that affect them are the following: the sinking of the Titanic, World War I, and the emergence of Ireland as a free state.
