Downown Examiner's bike taken in Northwest OKC

Diana Winslow, Downtown Examiner writer's bike is MIA from near Lake Hefner as of Thursday January 05-2012.

AKA "Chick on a Bike", the writer's very distinctive beaten red Nishiki 3 speed is a racing style bike, with a Selle Royale seat, various lights, bell and book rack on the back.

The bike has been serviced by both Al's Bicycles and by Schlegel Bicycles and bears marks of both.

When taken, the bike had a blue crate strapped to the back with bungees and the helmet and doglead red cable with a combination lock.

The bike was  kindly donated to Winslow in 2010 by a local Jazz musician upon discovery Winslow had had multiple rounds of catastrophic financial loss.

It is the primary source of transportation for the Examiner writer, who is also a spokes person for the Metro Transit in OKC.

If you have information about this bike, please contact the Hefner office of the Oklahoma City Police Department by calling (405) 297 1150 and asking to speak to Officer 984, Sgt Duroy.

Duroy reports that bicycle theft is common in OKC, and reports the visibility of this bike by history provides a significantly increased possibility of reunification if located.
