According to TSN, Canadian Olympic gold medalist Drew Doughty of London, Ontario led the Los Angeles Kings in scoring with two points on Monday night as the Kings defeated the Chicago Blackhawks 5-2 in game five of the Western Conference Final at the Staples Center in southern California. With the victory, the Kings now have a 3-1 series lead in the series.

Doughty, who won a gold medal for Canada in men's hockey at the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver and again at the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi, notched a goal and an assist. His goal was his third of the 2014 Stanley Cup playoffs, to go along with 11 assists for 14 points in 18 postseason games.

Doughty's goal in game four on Monday night came at 12:43 of the second period from Anze Kopitar and Justin Williams. The goal put the Kings up by a commanding 4-0 score at the time.

Doughty also registered an assist on a goal by fellow defenseman Jake Muzzin at the nine minute mark of the first period on the power play. Tyler Toffoli picked up the other assist for the Kings.

Doughty is trying to lead the Kings to their second Stanley Cup championship in three years. In order to get to the finals, they will have to defeat the defending Stanley Cup champion Chicago Blackhawks.

The series will now shift to the United Center in Chicago on Wednesday evening. It will be interesting to see if the Blackhawks will be making any significant lineup changes as they face elimination.

Game four of the series was the last National Hockey League game broadcasted by the Canadian sports television network of TSN. CBC will have the rest of the 2013-14 Stanley Cup playoffs before Sportsnet will completely take over broadcasting hockey games on Canadian television next season.
