Doug Greene Resigns from Rhea County Post

Doug Greene is ready for a second tour of duty as Ooltewah's defensive coordinator.

Greene who resigned his post as the head coach at Rhea County on Wednesday
has been hired as defensive coordinator by new Ooltewah coach Mac Bryan.

He posted a 3-17 record the last two seasons at Rhea County including a
2-8 record in 2012.

"We are extremely excited to get Coach Greene back at Ooltewah High School
as a Teacher and Coach," Ooltewah Principal Mark Bean said.

"Doug did an excellent job as our defensive coordinator when he worked with Coach (Benny) Monroe and I know our new head coach Bryan is glad to get Coach Greene on staff with the
Owls."

Greene was previously the Owl defensive coordinator under former coach Benny Monroe for four seasons from 2006-09.

He came to Rhea County after a one year stint as the defensive back coach for Ken Sparks at Carson Newman in 2010.

Greene has also served as the defensive back coach at West Alabama (2005-06) and Riverdale (1999) and was the defensive coordinator at Blackman (2000-04) and Coffee County (1993-98).

He started his coaching career at Cheatham County back in 1992.
