To end the summer off right, Music Changing Lives partnered with Hip Hop Artists Against Drugs (HHAAD) and the Redlands Police Department to bring a fun filled event for the family. The event, "Ball 4 a Cause," took place on Saturday, August 30 at the Redlands Community Center.

Retired NBA star Doug Christie, hip-hop artist Joe Moses, model/celebrity host Latricia Renee Price, Kartoon from the Ruff Ryders, and others battled the Music Changing Lives (MCL) team in the fundraising event to a final score of 59 to 58.

"Music Changing Lives staff and CEO were humbled and honored to see the turnout for our first celebrity basketball fundraiser 'Ball 4 A Cause'," Josiah Bruny, CEO of Music Changing Lives, stated. "Not only does it show our local community believes in our efforts but we now have the ear of Hollywood's elite and one of the greatest NBA stars on our team to stand up for social equality and to help keep music and art alive in our region and beyond."

He continues, "I want to thank our sponsors Jackie Christie Shiekh Shoes Vizard PR The Hotel San Bernardino, Q1047 Alynette & Chris Loos. I want to thank all the players Doug Christie and Doug Christie Jr. KC, Joe Moses, Young Blacc, Dee Mac, Gregg, Kartoon, Glenn Summerall, Demtitrius, Latricia Price, Niko, and Josiah Bruny."

The purpose of event was for the community to come together to help in keeping music and art alive for our youth and to bring awareness of the social issues that teens face on daily basis. The mission of Hip Hop Artists Against Drugs is teach kids about prevention and intervention. They believe that future adult problems can be avoided if time and caring are invested in children now. The organization lets youth experience positive growth-promoting environments, encourages them to set goals; and to launch them on a path of successful goal attainment.

Prior to the game, kids made arts and crafts to take home as keepsakes of the event. Other activities throughout the afternoon included a raffle for a pair of signature Sheikh heels from VH1's Basketball Wives LA star, Jackie Christie and a half-time show by MCL artist Kid Artist and Young Mani.

In addition to the wonderful hosts of the event, "Ball 4 a Cause" also could have not been a success with the assistance of sponsors which include Shiekh Shoes, The Hotel San Bernardino, Q104.7 FM, Lakers Nation, Goliath Graffix, Skool Boiz, Redbottom PR, and Vizard PR.
