USA Today reported on Thursday, Feb. 14, 2013, that South African police are saying they will charge Olympic athlete Oscar Pistorius with murder after his girlfriend was shot and killed at his home on Thursday morning. They are planning on charging the double amputee Olympian on Friday.
It is still unclear exactly what the situation is regarding the incident, but police in South Africa say they would oppose bail when the Paralympic gold medalist appears in court later in the day on Thursday.
Police spokesperson Brigadier Denise Beukes sait that Pistorius was at his home after the death of his girlfriend. The Associated Press said that "there is no other suspect involved."
