Hot off the heels of releasing her latest album, Grammy ® Award- nominated, Dove, Stellar, GMWA, NAACP Image Award-winning gospel singer Dottie Peoples brought her spirited brand of gospel music to Mt. Ennon Baptist Church in Clinton, Md. on Wednesday, Feb. 6. She performed before a large audience who came ready to hear their favorite songs and her new ones too.
The mini-concert was part of the promotional tour for her latest album, “I Got This- LIVE!” which was released Tuesday, Feb. 5. The album is a collection of 13 tracks that is a creative blend of praise and worship, contemporary and traditional gospel music.
People’s signature powerhouse vocals were on full display. She opened with “I Need Thee.” She also promised the audience she would perform some of her favorites along with the new material.
Impeccably arrayed in her finery, as always, she launched into the title track, “I Got This” which immediately got the church standing, clapping and swaying. She enthralled the audience with her substantial vocal skills and ended the song with exhortations about the different things that God has control of in the life of the believer.
“On this project I decided to do something a little different, a little more mellow Dottie,” she said as she launched into her stylized version of the George Benson hit, “Everything Must Change.” True to her word, she delivered her ever-popular hit, “On Time God” and "God Can, God Will."
Long lines formed after the concert as fans gathered to pick up an autographed copy of “I Got This-LIVE!” The album is available in stores and at online retailers. For more information on Dottie Peoples, visit dottiepeoples.com.
