Cinco de Mayo is coming! What is it? Well, literally it means “The 5th of May.” And while not technically Mexican Independence Day, it’s a lot of fun. And it’s even more fun when you come on out to Harrah’s Resort and celebrate Cinco de Mayo at Dos Caminos, the best Mexican restaurant in Atlantic City.
Cinco de Mayo actually commemorates the 1862 victory of the Mexican army against the French at the Battle of Puebla. This was a part of the little known (in the U.S.) Franco-Mexican War which took place from 1861 to 1867. While not a major holiday in Mexico, it has evolved north of the border to become a celebration of Mexican tradition and culture with parades, street festivals, food and fun.
So how is Dos Caminos getting into the act? They will be serving up super specials for Cinco de Mayo, maybe even a little more special than their usual spectacular Mexican menu. Take a peek.
