The Chitteden Bank on Dorset Street in South Burlington was robbed yesterday morning (Saturday, April 17) around 11 am by a man who claimed to be armed. No one was injured in the robbery, but the perpetrator escaped with an undisclosed amount of money.
At approximately 11:09 am, the robber entered the bank, handed a teller a note claiming he was armed and demanding money. He was given money and prompty left.
The man appeared on the bank's security camera and is described by the South Burlington police as a white male. He is about 6 feet, 3 inches tall and over 200 pounds. His identity was masked by a fur-lined hat with ear flaps dow, a dark blue hooded sweatshirt and dark sunglasses.
“It appeared the male may have worn some kind of padding under his clothes to make himself appear heavier,” police said in a press release.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the South Burlington Police at 802-846-4111.
