Prosecutors say on November 29, 2008, Dorian Simpson, 18, Jerry Brown, then 14, Dominic Kilgore, 18, and Dennis Hutcherson, 16, all participated in the murder of 22-year-old Johnnie Boyd Jr., and then stealing his car. Maurice Taylor, 19, supplied the gun that was used in the murder of the Johnnie Boyd, Jr., Maurice Taylor also participated in hiding Johnnie Boyd’s stolen vehicle.
Dennis Hutcherson was sentenced in juvenile court until he is 21-year-old plus a possible 6 years in adult prison.
On March 2, 2010, Jerry Brown pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter and aggravated robbery, with a gun specification. Brown faces a recommended sentence of 20 years in prison.
On March 9, 2010, a jury found Maurice Taylor guilty of murder, aggravated robbery, and receiving stolen property. He was sentenced to 18 years to life on March 24, 2010.
On August 23, 2010, Dominic Kilgore pleaded guilty to two counts of aggravated murder, one count of aggravated robbery, one count of receiving stolen property, all with 1 and 3 year firearm specifications. Dominic Kilgore also pleaded guilty to carrying concealed weapons and having weapons while under disability. He faces life in prison without the possibility of parole. Dominic Kilgore's sentencing is scheduled for October 8, 2010.
Dorian Simpson’s trial is scheduled for September 8, 2010 at 9:00 am in front of Judge John Sutula.
