After a five year dry spell, Chicago industrial metal outfit Dope has released a brand new music video Tuesday for their newest track "Selfish" exclusively through Loudwire.com. Fans had been treated with a few teasers of new music last year and last week, but they finally got to see a full featured video of an entire new song.
The video is directed by front man Edsel Dope and features the band performing on stage, all clad in black down to their black fingernail polish. The live performance footage also features a woman dancing and singing along to the track, who appears to be wearing nothing but either black latex or bathed in an oil slick. It's heavy metal, there's always got to be some scantily clad babes in the video, right?
"Very excited to begin sharing new Dope music with our fans," said Dope in a press release. "These are some of our most punishing works to date.”
The band kicks off a tour August 29 at the Thompson House in Newport, Kentucky, to promote their upcoming album called "Blood Money" which is due for a spring 2015 release. The disc will be Dope’s first new album since 2009's "No Regrets." They also recently announced plans for new dates in Russia this year as well. Current U.S. confirmed dates are focused on several shows based mostly in midwestern states such as Ohio, Michigan, Kentucky and Illinois.
