Doorly's XO rum from Barbados

A unique aged rum from Barbados, Doorly's XO is a premium spirit produced by R.L. Seale and Company. A beautiful Blue Hyacinth Macaw adorns the label.

This is a masterfully distilled rum aged in bourbon oak barrels for six to 12 years. The rum is then rested in Spanish Orolosso Sherry barrels in a second maturing stage for a unique flavor profile that suggest echoes of fine single malt scotch, port, bourbon or cognac.

Doorly's XO is a deep reddish brown color with medium bodied viscosity. The aromas of oak barrel, brown sugar, carmelized fruit and sherry dominate. The taste is drier that the nose suggests with hints of toasted nuts, brown sugar, sherry and bourbon. The finish is smooth, warm and long lasting.

The Doorly's rums are distilled, aged and blended by R.L. Seale and Company at the Foursquare Distillery in St. Philip, Barbados. After many years of production, the distillery was closed in 1984 as part of the rationalization of the sugar industry. It was re-opened in 1999 with modern and efficient equipment along with the Heritage Park visitors center.

The brand was founded by Martin Doorly in the early 1920s, then acquired by R.L. Seale in 1992.

Among many accolades, this spirit was awarded 5 stars by Dave Broom in his book "Rum." Doorly's 5 Year Old aged rum is one of the most popular sold in Barbados. The company also makes Old Brigand, Velvet Falernum and Tommy Bahama rums.
