Doomsday confirmed as playable for 'Injustice: Gods Among Us' in new video

He's the supervillain creature that "killed" Superman and he has a role to play in Injustice: Gods Among Us. Doomsday was confirmed as a playable character Wednesday for the DC Comics alternate universe fighting game coming to the PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii U.

Doomsday's appearance in Injustice: Gods Among Us was revealed in a new trailer released by GameStop. The footage shows the hulking villain throwing down with Shazam. As expected, he's a power fighter with moves that solely focus on punching and striking. Doomsday also has an over the top Ultimate that drives his opponent through the Earth and back again.

The appearance of Doomsday was originally teased by an accidental GameStop leak on its site back in January. However, this is the first official confirmation of the character and the first time we get to see him in action.

This brings the total number of playable characters for Injustice to 20 following the reveal of Hawkgirl and Sinestro.

Injustice: Gods Among Us will land on the PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii U on April 16. You can check out the Doomsday trailer in our video gallery.
