Doneeka Lewis returns to Tulsa Shock

The Tulsa Shock announced on Friday that the team has signed guard Doneeka Lewis for the 2013 WNBA season. Lewis played in five games with Tulsa in 2011 and averaged 6.2 points per game and 2.8 assists. Lewis is currently playing in Turkey for Canik Bld averaging 35.9 minutes per game as well as scoring 15.4 points per game. Lewis is the twin sister of current Shock guard Roneeka Hodges.

“Doneeka is a veteran guard that is hungry to get back into the WNBA,” Shock Head Coach Gary Kloppenburg said. “She is having an excellent year playing overseas and I know she will come into camp ready to battle for a roster spot.”

The Shock’s home opener will be May 27th against the Washington Mystics at the BOK Center. The game will be broadcasted live on ESPN2.
