Finally today all doubts that General Hospital had hired three-time Daytime Emmy winner Billy Miller can be put asunder. Today official word came from none other than GH EP, Frank Valentini who gave the word himself in a tweet to his head writer Ron Carlivati earlier: “Billy Miller is joining the cast of General Hospital n the role of Jason Morgan. Welcome to Port Charles Billy #GH”
He added this “I am really excited to be working with such a talented and acclaimed actor as Billy. Our cast is thrilled that he will be joining our ‘General Hospital’ family, and I know that he will be an amazing addition to our talented cast.”
Billy will appear in the role of Jason Morgan. Steve Burton left GH in 2012 and won the role of Dylan McAvee on The Young and the Restless, Billy's soap home where he played the role of Billy Abbott so brilliantly no one so far can take his place, and no one probably will ever come close.
Billy Miller is a phenomonaly talented actor who will bring much acclaim to GH. To those fans who think only SB could play the role, you are in for a big surprise. The new Jason Morgan will have character and the brilliance will be hard to hide behind the robotic killer. We can only hope that Jason comes back a changed man and will give Billy a much wider range to play.
Yes, welcome Billy Miller and we look forward to the new Jason.
No airdate has been announced yet. I will keep you all informed as news comes out.
General Hospital can be seen weekdays on ABC at 2 p.m.
