Donations needed for the Good Mews Spring Flea Market

If you are going to be doing any spring cleaning in the next few weeks this will be a great opportunity to get rid of your gently used items and help homeless cats and kittens at the same time.

Good Mews Animal Foundation will be holding its annual Spring Flea Market for several consecutive weekends in April and May and will start accepting donated items on Saturday, March 9. Items will be accepted through Saturday, May 4. Donation drop off hours are Saturdays 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Sundays Noon to 3 p.m. at the flea market location in the Piedmont Commons (Publix) Shopping Center, 1050 East Piedmont Road, Suite 148-154, Marietta. Contact Kelly (kmcnamara@goodmews.org) to schedule an appointment to drop off items during the week.

The following items (which must be in good condition and in working order) will be accepted: furniture, arts and crafts, collectibles, office supplies, bed and bath items, TVs, digital cameras, radios, DVD players, home décor and accessories, kitchen items, garden supplies, pet care items, bicycles, small sporting goods, toys, luggage, jewelry, books, movies, music, and holiday items. Good Mews is not accepting any of the following items this year: tools, automotive items, large exercise equipment, mattresses/box springs, drop side cribs, used car seats, fax machines, printers, large appliances, computers, keyboards, overhead light fixtures, ceiling fans or clothing.

The Spring Flea Market is Good Mews’ largest fundraiser and obtaining donated space means more money for the kitties. Funds raised are used to provide shelter, food, and medical care to the homeless cats in the care of Good Mews at their Shelter and in foster homes. This will be the ninth year Good Mews has held a Spring Flea Market. Last year’s event raised over $50,000 for the Good Mews’ kitties.

The sale will begin on Friday, April 12 and will run for five consecutive weekends with new merchandise each weekend. See the flyer for details on the dates and hours of the flea market.
