This is a request for help with vetting two abandoned puppies, Facebook reported February 25.

Valerie Rankin posted the sad story of the scum who thought it would be all right to abandon two small puppies in the middle of the road in front of her Marietta, South Carolina home.

Valerie's husband was working out in the yard on February 21 when he saw a truck stop in the middle of the road. The driver's door opened, and then it closed before the truck sped off.

This monster had abandoned two little black pit bull mix puppies in the middle of the road. He put them on the yellow line and drove off.

Valerie and her husband rescued the pups from the middle of the road, and have agreed to foster them. The puppies have been named Layla and Lola. Valerie is raising money to have them checked out at the vet, get them up to date on vaccines, and have them spayed.

Valerie has contacted Speak for Animals, and will be able to receive spaying and vaccines for $35 per puppy. She needs the money up front to purchase a voucher to have the pups cared for. A YouCaring account has been set up to raise the necessary funds.

Since Valerie adopted a dog from Jasmine Weaver, owner of Jazzy's Pit Bulls Kennel and Rescue, those who are caution of YouCaring accounts can donate directly through the rescue via PayPal at Please state the donation is for Layla and Lola.

Please share this story with friends who love dogs. If interested in adopting these girls, contact Valerie Rankin or Jasmine Weaver.
