Have jeans that no longer fit or that you no longer wear? Now is the time to clean out your closet and gather those jeans because the Teens for Jeans event is going on at Aeropostale.
From now until February 12, 2012, you can donate your gently worn jeans to Aeropostale to help fight teen homelessness. Not only will this benefit others, but you will also be able to save on your next purchase of a pair of new Aeropostale jeans. When your bring in your donation, you will receive 25% off of your next purchase of jeans from Aeropostale.
Aeropostale and DoSomething.org have been hosting this event each year, and in four years, they have collected and donated 1.5 million pairs of jeans. According to the Teens for Jeans website, one in three homeless individuals are under the age of 18 years old. The Teens for Jeans program was created to help this population of people.
Schools are also encouraged to get involved in this program. The school that collects the most jeans will win a prize of $5,000, a party for the entire school, and new Aeropostale jeans for every student. For more information about the school contest, click here.
To participate individually, just bring your gently worn jeans to any Aeropostale or P.S. from Aeropostale location. You are welcome to donate jeans of any brand to this program.
Louisville has two Aeropostale locations. Aeropostale is located at Mall St. Matthews and Jefferson Mall. To get more information, or for directions, click here.
