Donate to the LCC 12/31 Fund

Curious about all that the Lutheran Church Charities (LCC) has done for people around our nation this year? Well, let’s take a look and then you can decide if you have a few dollars left over from the holidays in which to donate so that others may receive.

First and foremost, LCC’s Comfort Dogs are always ready to serve. These dogs have been across the country this year absorbing the impact of some fatal situations, but the 60 dogs always seem to come out smiling! They have been granted with that much love to give!

Then there is the Charities’ domestic and international Disaster Relief, the Lutheran Early Response Training (LERT) and Congregational Preparedness Training (CPT), not to mention their Ethnic Ministry Support, the Deaf Ministry and one final one that helps so many is their Scholarships for Haitian school children. Of course there are many more ministries, but these are some that make a huge impact on many.

The Lutheran Church Charities makes it their mission to travel to wherever they are invited, spreading love and support and they never ask for anything. They are simply there to help the people hurting from one type of disaster or another.

Each year, LCC hosts one fundraiser that helps to support these ministries. They count on the prayers and financial assistance that they receive to help fund their efforts. LCC’s ministries do not consider whether or not the people that have been affected by disaster are Lutheran or not, they simply look at them as God’s people – people in need.

They pray that their ministries will provide a life-changing experience for those that sometimes lose hope in the wake of tragedy. They want to revive that hope and display as much love as people can muster.

This year, a friend of the Lutheran Church Charities has offered to match every gift donated to this Annual 12/31 Campaign up to $10,000 if the funds are received by December 31st, 2013. No matter the amount of your gift, it will double in value and impact. And, if you are wondering if your money will actually be used for whatever you designate it for, do not fret because LCC passes on 100% of your designated donations to specific needs. Every. Single. Penny!

Dig deep. You just never know if you will be one needing to cry into a Golden Retriever’s fur for one reason or another. Give the Comfort Dogs the ability to go as many places as they are needed; places like Queens, New York after Superstorm Sandy, Newtown, Connecticut after the shootings at Sandy Hook Elementary, Boston, Massachusetts after the Marathon Bombings, West Texas after the Fertilizer Plant Explosion, Prescott, Arizona after the Yarnell Hill Wildfire, Moore, Oklahoma after the Oklahoma Tornadoes, Washington, Illinois after the Illinois Tornadoes, and Centennial, Colorado after the Arapahoe High School shootings.

As much as we would like to see these disasters from ever taking place, with the public’s financial and spiritual support, we also know that there will be comfort in the wake of the storms. Please help if you are able!
