Before the summer solstice on June 21, 2014, gather up canned goods and non-perishables and head out to Gapper’s Alley before the 5th inning of the Cincinnati Reds vs Toronto Blue Jays and donate food to help ‘Strike Out Hunter’.
Cincinnati Reds and St. Vincent de Paul are joining forces again with their annual summer food drive at the Great American Ball Park. Food collected benefits local families this summer and helps keep children from going hungry now that school is out.
Get a free ticket to a future Reds ball game by donating 3 nonperishable food items at Gapper’s Alley before the 5th inning of the Reds vs. Blue Jays game on June 21, 2014. Fans do not need to purchase a ticket to the June 20 or 21 games to donate. There is a limit of 1 ticket per person donating food.
In 2013 St. Vincent de Paul Reds Food Drive collected over 15,500 pounds of food, which provided more than 12,000 meals to Cincinnati families. St. Vincent’s helped more than 100,000 people with food which is enough people to fill Great American Ballpark two and a half times.
