On Wednesday Donald Trump said that he had met the challenge comedian Bill Maher threw at him on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno on Monday, and he wanted the $5 million dollars Maher promised to give to his favorite charities.
Trump accepted the challenge to provide his birth certificate, despite Maher's crude comments about the Donald being spawned by an organutan, and now he wants Maher to put his money where his mouth is according to The Lookout.
Maher appears to have been trying to get back at the real estate tycoon for Trump's request that Obama release his college academic records. But the move appears to have backfired on him.
If the mouthy comedian honors what he promised on national television then the following charities will benefit from the controversy: Hurricane Sandy victims, The American Cancer Society, The Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, The March of Dimes and The Police Athletic League.
If Bill Maher chooses to resort to more badmouthing of Trump rather than keeping his own word then he merely supports the "boos" he earned from the Jay Leno audience, who didn't enjoy his more controversial behavior that night. And it might not bode well for his return to television this month either.
