On Sept. 18, TV by the Numbers reported that Donald Trump is all set to make an appearance on Bravo’s new series “I Dream of NeNe: The Wedding,” which stars NeNe Leakes from “The Real Housewives of Atlanta.” Leakes and Trump had a contemptuous relationship when she competed on “The Celebrity Apprentice” in 2011. However, it looks like their past problems are now water under the bridge.
Donald Trump will appear on the Sept. 24 episode of “I Dream of NeNe: The Wedding,” which premiered on Sept. 17 and pulled in more than 1.5 million viewers. Hoping to get some clarity about her pre-nup issues with Greg, NeNe pays The Donald a visit to get his financial advice and words of wisdom about dealing with step families.
While the two may be friends now, they certainly weren’t chummy when Leakes went AWOL on “The Celebrity Apprentice.” After a disagreement, she departed unexpectedly. Despite Trump’s request to return, NeNe never did. During the next boardroom, Trump quipped, “The fact is, she left, she quit, and she gave up. To you, NeNe, I say ‘you’re fired.’ And you’re a quitter.”
So, despite their previous hassles and problems, have Donald Trump and NeNe Leakes finally buried the hatchet and joined forces again? It certainly seems so, especially with Trump’s upcoming appearance on her new series.
New episodes of “I Dream of NeNe: The Wedding” air at 9 p.m. EST on Tuesday nights on Bravo. For a preview of the season, be sure to watch the video above and to the left. The docu-series features the impending nuptials and wedding of former spouses NeNe and Greg Leakes. Each episode follows the bride as she plans the wedding of a lifetime and puts her team of experts to the test in executing her dream vision. Alongside NeNe is her bridal party, including Cynthia Bailey and Marlo Hampton, who bring a fair share of drama to the new show.
Although initial ratings for the premiere of "I Dream of NeNe" were good, the most successful Bravo spin-off to date is “Bethenny Getting Married,” which drew in 2.1 viewers for its debut.
According to Access Atlanta, “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” returns for season six on Nov. 3. Last season, the show generated its best ratings ever and practically tied “The Real Housewives of New Jersey,” Bravo’s most popular show in the franchise. All six ladies, including NeNe Leakes, Kandi Burruss, Phaedra Parks, Cynthia Bailey, Kenya Moore and Porsha Williams, are set to return.
