Donald Trump slams Rihanna for faux illness

Donald Trump is furious that Rihanna canceled a concert he had hired her for, citing illness, but then wound up performing 24 hours later at the NBA All-Star Game on Feb. 20, 2011.

Trump says he had agreed to pay Rihanna $500,000 to sing at a cancer fund-raiser at Mar-a-Lago, his private resort in Palm Beach, Fla., on Feb. 19, but she canceled at the last minute, saying she was sick.

The next day, Rihanna performed live at half-time during the NBA All-Star Game, which the West won 148-143.

'Rihanna Bailing On Us Was An Insult'

“I thought [Rihanna bailing] was insulting to everyone,” Trump, 64, told the Palm Beach Post. “But for Rihanna to go to the [NBA] All-Star game and perform after she told us she was sick, that is just a lack of respect."

Wearing skintight hotpants and fishnet stockings, Rihanna turned up the sex appeal at half-time, cavorting around stage and even grabbing her crotch before a star-studded crowd at the Staples Center in Los Angeles Feb. 20.

Kanye West and Drake joined Rihanna at the half-time show, during which she sang Umbrella, Only Girl In The World, Rude Boy, What’s My Name? and All of the Lights. [see video at left]

'Jennifer Hudson Has a Better Voice Than Rihanna'

The Donald wound up hiring Jennifer Hudson to fill in for Rihanna, 23, at the last minute, and couldn't be happier with the outcome.

“Nothing was missed," says Trump. "Jennifer’s a beautiful girl. She came on her day off even though she performs almost every night. She is an unbelievable talent, and her voice is better [than Rihanna's].”
