Donald Trump erupted and slammed GOP officials in a series of tweets Tuesday. With the fiscal cliff averted by the House of Representatives, the "Celebrity Apprentice" boss sharply criticized the Republican Party for lackluster negotiating and caving in to Obama and the Democrats.
In its Jan. 1 report, Huffington Post said Donald Trump slammed the GOP on Twitter Tuesday, criticizing it for failing in having stronger negotiations in the U.S. fiscal cliff deal.
After jousting over critical issues that threatened to increase taxes for every American and possibly push the economy into chaos, Democrats and Republicans passed legislation to avoid going over the "cliff" Tuesday night. While the landmark legislation was passed at the 11th hour, it gave financial markets and consumers a degree of certainty going forward.
Donald Trump blasted Republicans for not sticking to their guns and insisting on more spending cuts from Obama in lieu of added revenue.
On the day both bills from the Senate and House passed, Trump took to Twitter and said:
"Obama and the Democrats are laughing at the deal they just made...the Republicans got nothing!"
In a second tweet, he said:
"I am a Republican...but the Republicans may be the worst negotiators in history!"
And to add insult to injury, The Donald said:
"Does any Republican have the ability to negotiate?"
Obviously, Trump is not defecting and crossing the aisle. However, his reasoning suggests that the GOP is not good at closing the deal. Perhaps, it's a simple matter that even the most radical among lawmakers realized that it's time to turn the corner and move America forward.
So Donald Trump slams GOP lawmakers; nothing strange about that, right? After all, he is known for chastising Obama and others in the past. The question to Republicans now is: Who gets fired?
