Donald Trump demands $5 million from Bill Maher

On Tuesday Donald Trump’s attorneys demanded $5 million from Bill Maher.

This came about due to an appearance Bill Maher made on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno Monday night. Maher made a trumped-up demand from The Donald, saying he would donate $5 million to the charity of Trump’s choice, if he proved that he was not the “spawn of his mother having sex with an orangutan."

The Celebrity Apprentice host had his attorney send a letter to the comedian along with a copy of Trump’s birth certificate, demanding that the $5 million be distributed evenly between five charities: Hurricane Sandy Victims, The Police Athletic League, The American Cancer Society, The March of Dimes, and The Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

This stems from Trump’s promise to donate $5 million to charity, if President Barack Obama would provide his passport applications, birth certificate and college records, to prove that he was a naturally born American citizen.

So far, there’s been no word from Bill Maher's camp, but you can expect to hear from him soon enough.

The great thing about this sparring back and forth, is some charities will be benefiting from their generosity. Let’s hope Maher pays up, for charities sake, and sends Trump a counter offer.

Trump’s demand letter to Bill Maher:

January 8, 2013

Mr. Bill Maher
Real Time with Bill Maher
CBS Studios
7800 Beverly Boulevard
Los Angeles, CA 90036

Dear Mr. Maher:

I represent Mr. Donald J. Trump. I write on his behalf to accept your offer (made during the Jay Leno Show on January 7, 2013) that Mr. Trump prove he is not the “spawn of his mother having sex with an orangutan.”

Attached hereto is a copy of Mr. Trump’s birth certificate, demonstrating that he is the son of Fred Trump, not an orangutan. Please remit the $5 million to Mr. Trump immediately and he will ensure that the money be donated to the following five charities in equal amounts: Hurricane Sandy Victims, The Police Athletic League, The American Cancer Society, The March of Dimes, and The Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

Regards,
Scott S. Balber
