Donald Trump calls Bill Maher out on his $5 million bluff

Donald Trump took Bill Maher up on his facetious offer of $5 million if Trump would release his birth certificate to show that he was not born of his mother's relationship with an orangutan. Maher made the remark on the "Tonight Show with Jay Leno" on Monday night.

Donald Trump has made a serious offer to donate $5 million to President Obama's favorite charities if he would release his personal documents that have been sealed. The birth certificate has been the most sought-after document by "birthers," and Donald Trump has among those calling for a complete document to be released.

According to Extra's AJ Calloway, who interviewed Donald Trump on Wednesday, Jan. 10. 2013, explains that Donald Trump has made it very clear he expects Maher to make good on his off-hand remark.

“He made the offer… I accepted his offer and he owes me $ 5 million, which I am going to give to charity. If doesn’t pay the money we will probably sue him.”

You have got to respect "The Donald." Whether you love him or hate him, he is always ready to stick his neck out on an issue that he feels strongly about. Whether you agree with his issues or not, it is such a refreshing change to see somebody do something besides just talk to an issue. By the way, this fearless attitude is probably how you get to have "the" in front of your name.

Fox News published the following text from the letter sent to Bill Maher from Donald Trump's lawyer.

Attached hereto is a copy of Mr. Trump's birth certificate, demonstrating that he is the son of Fred Trump, not an orangutan. Please remit the $5 million to Mr. Trump immediately and he will ensure that the money be donated to the following five charities in equal amounts: Hurricane Sandy Victims, The Police Athletic League, The American Cancer Society, The March of Dimes, and The Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.”
