On April 29, Adam Silver, the commissioner of the NBA announced that Donald Sterling, the owner of the Los Angeles Clippers professional basketball team was banned for life from any NBA activities, including practices.
Many people believe such punishment was a good idea. "There continues to be discrimination in the workplace. I hope this sends a strong message that racism in any form will not be tolerated anymore," said David Crawford.
"It is about time that racism is handled strongly. What Sterling said was wrong. I remember when racism was all too common," said Reginald White.
"I am glad that the NBA is sending a strong message that racism is not acceptable," said Heather Mack.
