DTAIBAI (Don’t Talk About It, Be About It), a Jacksonville, Fla. based community outreach foundation committed to providing resources and assisting families in need both locally and globally, is prolonging lives one “sole” at a time. And they are inviting you to help.

The 501(c)(3) non-profit is presenting its Second Annual “Shoes-4-Smiles” outreach charity drive in an effort to help warm the homeless of all ages in Jacksonville’s shelters. They are asking for donations of unworn or slightly worn shoes, socks, gloves, knit hats and scarves, which will be distributed to shelters on December 22.

“DTAIBAI needs a great deal of assistance spreading the word among all of Duval County’s businesses, charitable organizations, churches and schools,” said Rachel Betts, DTAIBAI founder and president. “The more people who know about it, the more people we can help.”

Shoes-4-Smiles is DTAIBAI’s third outreach event in five months. They held their Second Annual "Cuts-4-Smiles" event in August, providing free haircuts and schools supplies, and they dedicated November to helping elderly who reside in nursing and assisted living homes that are facing financial hardship through their “Assisted Smiles” event. The Assisted Smiles outreach collected adult diapers and provided “Debutante and Debonair beauty make-overs” for residents of nursing and assisted living homes.

“Giving back is a lifestyle,” Betts said.
