On Saturday, April 24, 2010, Indianapolis will be treated to the burlesque extravaganza “Bottoms Up Burlesque Invites You to Misbehave,” at Radio Radio in Fountain Square. We welcome all those curious about the art of burlesque, and in search of an evening filled with music, dance, comedy, and much much more to join us for a night filled with exotic entertainment and old-fashioned burlesque magic.
Bottoms Up Burlesque made its debut on the stage of the Historic Melody Inn in 2004. The troupe puts on annual fall shows at the Melody Inn, spring shows at Radio Radio, and has performed at local events such as Indy Bang, the Fringe Festival, and for the American Legion. Now in its sixth year, Bottoms Up is hot off a joint show with Michelle L’amour’s Chicago Starlets, and looks forward to a host of exciting performances throughout 2010.
All proceeds from the April 24th show will go to Creating Hope, a non-profit that visits area hospitals and provides art therapy and materials to patients undergoing treatment for cancer. Based in Fishers, Indiana, this organization believes in the healing powers of expression and helps to heal the spirits of those battling the disease. Doors open at 8 p.m. and the event begins at 9 p.m. The night kicks off with Deacon Sean and the Bar Brawlers, who will play a set before the ladies of Bottoms Up take the stage. Tickets are $6 in advance and $8 at the door. For more information please visit http://www.bottomsupburlesque.com.
