Tomorrow, July 28, 2011, the second annual Chelsea Art Walk will be held at more than 125 galleries in Chelsea from 5 to 8 p.m. This event will include talks by artists, curators, and gallery owners, live performances, book sales, book signings and receptions. One of the participating galleries is the Bertrand Delacroix Gallery that is currently featuring an exhibition by Christa Maiwald of embroidered portraits of numerous well known artists in the exhibition Blue Chip.
Some highlights of tomorrow night’s show will include a screening of Miroslav Tichy: Tarzan Retired, a film by Miroslav Tichy and Roman Buxbaum at the Horton Gallery. Live performances include Autodrone at the Mona Rowe Gallery featuring shoegaze, industrial, and post punk music; Genevieve White performing Cold Cuts at Freight + Volume; and an alternative four man band, not named but said to be well known, at the RARE Gallery.
Some of the other Chelsea Galleries participating in the Chelsea Art Walk are the Matthew Marks Gallery (currently featuring the exhibition La Carte D'Apres Nature), the Hasted Kraeutler Gallery (currently featuring the exhibition Tulips), and the Pace Gallery (currently featuring the exhibition Soft Machines).
