This coming Sun., Feb. 10th, will be February’s free Fortnightly Music Club concert. The one-hour classical music concert will begin at 7:00 p.m., and will be located at the Lucie Stern Community Center at 1305 Middlefield Rd. This is a perfect opportunity to take your sweetie out for an early and affordable Valentine’s date.
February’s concert will include works by Sergei Prokofiev, Chopin, and Lizst. Performances will be by violin, vocals, and piano. Not to miss will be a special yet-to-be-published piece by Fortnightly Music Club member composer Dale Victorine set to a selection of five e.e. cummings poems, and sung by club President David Saslav. See the FMC website for the complete Feb. concert program.
Currently in its 105th year, the Fortnightly Music Club, begun by a group of Stanford faculty wives, seeks to further a passion for and access to affordable classical music in the local community. Each year, Oct. through May, the club puts on free concerts open to the public. There are only four concerts left in the 2012-2013 season. Make sure to catch February’s!
