This weekend some local chefs will host Carved at Atherton Mill and Market. Although this market is usually closed on Sunday, on October 20 from 4 o'clock until 7 this event will take place.
The Facebook page for Carved shared some details for those interesting in attending this fun and family friendly event:
Join us on Sunday, October 20 from 4 until 7 for a hauntingly entertaining afternoon. Local chefs will begin carving at 4pm, competing for a cash prize as you bid on your favorite jack-o-lantern to take home with you just in time for the hallowed holiday! This is a family friendly event, in fact kids are encouraged to bring a carved pumpkin for a kids carving competition, prizes awarded. Join us for music, banter, merriment, and fun. There will be food for purchase provided by local food trucks, beverages for the kids and beer for adults with purchase of $10 advanced ticket or $15 at the door. Kids 18 & under $5, unless they bring their carved jack-o-lantern and then they’re free!
Money from this event will be donated to Slow Food Charlotte Farmers Fund. The Facebook page also included the following statement:
