Don't lose momentum: Demand clean air now

After thousands of people attended the Clean Air, No Excuses Rally on Jan. 25, 2014, it is time for the citizens of Utah to capitalize on the building momentum. Now is the time to contact your legislator. (See video of chanting here.)

  1. Click to go to the page to find your local legislators; email Governor Herbert here
  2. Fill out the form with your information.
  3. Include a polite message about how you want clean air:

“Dear Senator or Rep. Name,

Please vote for every bill that will make the air better in Utah.

Thanks,

your name”

is good. It is short and to the point. You can even copy and paste it into the email, you just need to change the greeting and add your name.

“Dear Rep.,

Please support the Air Quality Revisions bill that is being carried by Rep. Becky Edwards. We need Utah solutions for Utah problems.

Thanks,

your name”

is better. It shows that you have done some research and that there is a specific bill you are following.

(This particular bill, which does not have a number, will allow Utah to pass laws regarding air pollution that are more stringent than the EPA requires. It will be important if Utah wants to make sure that the EPA stays out of Utah’s business, figuratively and literally.)

Feel free to copy and paste the above. While a personal message is always better, even a copy and paste is better than nothing. You will just want to address your specific legislator.

Fill their inboxes now so that they know the people of Utah are serious.
