I have seen it 3 times this week, in my lice removal salon...we get mom, and her two kids completely 'lice free'...they come back for the final check...and we find ADULT BUGS on their heads! Grrrrrrrr! What has happened is either a close friend or family member, who was not checked (mistakenly assumed to be lice-free), has 're-infested' the original clients. I have seen families spread it to their entire family...cousins visiting, siblings who were too busy to come and get a free check, dads who work crazy long hours. It can be such a hassle getting the entire family checked for lice, on the same day. I used to think lice salons were being kind of ridiculous, when they demanded to see entire family, for guarantee to apply. I just saw it, again this morning. Last week 'mom' was LouseBusted. Today, she brought in her 11 year old son to be checked. He has a massive infestation...like 25 adult lice on his head! Of course, 'mom' had a new infestation of adults on her head, too. So we treated them both, and they are clear...but we have not seen the dad. It is such a pain to be in 'lock-down lice mode' at home...endless washing, spraying, and more washing. I can't tell you how many 'grandmas' keep spreading lice back and forth. They visit one set of grand-kids one weekend, and the other set of grand-kids the next weekend. Grandma is 'ground zero'!! The moral of the story is: when you have a lice outbreak in your family...CHECK EVERYONE on the same day!
