Eighth grade students planning to attend one of Louisville's Catholic high schools next fall won't be sleeping in this Saturday morning! Instead, they'll be heading to the high school they plan to attend next year in order to take the High School Placement Test. Information about this test and its purpose can be found in a previous article on this page.
The HSPT begins at each of the Catholic high schools at 9:00 a.m. Students should bring the $15 fee that covers the cost of the test as well as two #2 pencils with them. Testing should be completed by 12:30 p.m. Each school will mail enrollment and registration information home to each of the families in mid-February. Scores are not available from any school until that time, and some wait to share scores with students at their registration event in March.
Remember, the purpose of the HSPT is to help high school personnel know which classes would be most appropriate for each incoming freshman next year. Therefore, the only things students need to do between now and then to prepare for the test is to get plenty of sleep and eat a good breakfast.
