Former radio personality Don Imus called Howard Stern a "nice guy" after calling David Letterman a "creep" and a "punk" on Friday's edition of Your World with Neil Cavuto on the Fox News Channel.  Don Imus' lambasting of David Letterman is far less shocking than his admission that he considers Howard Stern not only "nice," but also "funny."

The pompadoured Cavuto asked for Don Imus' "take" on David Letterman's Thursday night announcement that he was the target of an attempted blackmail scheme aimed at exposing Letterman's affairs with female members of his staff.

"I always thought [Letterman] was a creep," muttered a hoary Don Imus.  Then, the longtime enemy of The Howard Stern Show launched into a spontaneous endorsement of the King of All Media. 

"Like Stern?" said Imus. "I like Howard Stern. I think he’s funny."

"You like Howard Stern?" asked Neil Cavuto with a tone that suggested he was concerned that grandpa had forgotten his medication again.

"He’s a nice guy," sputtered Don Imus.  "He’s not a creep.  I mean he’s a citizen…He hates things about me…but I ran into him on the street and we shook hands.  He’s not a creep.  Letterman’s a creep.  He’s an angry mean spirited jerk—the stuff he said about Sarah Palin’s kid?  I mean I’m not a big Sarah Palin fan but I also don’t believe in bludgeoning her children.  I mean, he’s a punk, so..."

Howard Stern has spoken of his recent chance meeting with Don Imus on a New York City sidewalk, but his impression of Don Imus was less flattering.  Howard Stern expressed his concern about Don Imus' continued insistence on wearing a cowboy outfit and then ripped on Imus' radio program being slaughtered and reconstituted into a television show on the obscure "Fox Business Channel."

It's a good thing Grandpa doesn't know how to use a satellite radio.
