Don Cheadle reaches his crowdfunding goal; thanks his fans and supporters

Actor Don Cheadle hit all the right notes with his now completed Indiegogo campaign for his Miles Davis biopic “Miles Ahead”. The “House of Lies” star met and surpassed his $325,000 crowdfunding goal by raising over $340,000 before it came to an end on Thursday July 10.

The actor taped a thank you message which is posted at his Indiegogo page for all who supported his campaign and gave an update on how well production is going.

“We did it! We did it! You did it. Thank you very much. This is incredible. We’re day four right now. Things are going great and every penny that’s coming in is going right on the screen. We’re going to be able to pull of all of the time periods, get the music nailed down. We’ve got a great cast and everything is just coming together amazaingly. So stay tuned we’re going to keep sending you guys more updates. We’re going to keep you guys invoved with the process. Thank you guys again so much…couldn’t do without you. Boom!”

Cheadle’s Indiegogo campaign started back in early June. He joins a list of other Hollywood notables who have successfully reached out to the public for help on crowfunding platforms like Indiegogo and Kickstarter. Director Sike Lee and actor Zach Braff have also gotten financial assistance via crowdfunding for their film projects.

“Miles Ahead” will star Cheadle, Ewan McGregor and Emayatzy Corinealdi with Cheadle also producing and directing. The Oscar nominated star is a vetran of both television and films.
