Don Carson passes

A staple on the NWA and Gulf Coast Wrestling legend Don Carson passed away on Saturday at the age of 77.

Carson was a major player in the 60s and 70s including selling out the Olympic Auditorium to battle John Tolos after Tolos threw powder in the eyes of former Carson tag team partner Freddie Blassie.

The number of singles and tag team titles Carson held are numerous and his feuds with the likes of The Sufflin' Hillbillies, Ken Lucas and the Hines Brothers are still the subject of conversation at wrestling reunions.

Carson was a successful manager in the later stages of his career walking to the ring with Jos LeDuc and The Grapplers among others.
