Another Kansas City charter school bites the dust.
Don Bosco High School, located in the Northeast section of Kansas City, Missouri, announced today it will close at the conclusion of the 2011 school year.
The school has been a viable alternative to crowed classrooms and mass education for Kansas City parents and youth for several years. Smaller classrooms and a hands-on approach to education is how many parents describe the school.
The charter school is an extension of the long-time nonprofit Don Bosco Center nonprofit organization. The center describes itself as a “comprehensive social service agency that works to address the daily issues and needs of the residents of northeast Kansas City.”
According to a recent KCTV5 news report, the charter school will work with each parent to develop an educational plan for every student.
A press conference is scheduled for April 8, 2011 at 10:00 a.m.
